Wiesbaden goes dancing
Under the aegis of the Kulturamt (Cultural Office), the popular ”Wiesbaden tanzt" festival will be held in the Hessian capital from 13th - 15th of September 2013. The festival is taking place for the tenth time in 2013.
The event "Wiesbaden tanzt"will be most definitely under the banner of dance. This event will take place for the tenth time. The dance festival has developed into a popular cultural event in the state capital, inspiring thousands to join in the dancing. "Wiesbaden tanzt" provides an opportunity to get to know the work of the local dance establishments as well as dancers, institutions and schools active in the field of dance. The variety of the programme emphasises just how many artistic means of expression dance offers and the power, fascination and magic it embodies. The programme includes around 200 workshops, dance performances and dance evenings with a wide range of music and dance genres for all ages.
Diverse, colourful and varied – with opportunities for active participation, wonder, indulgence
and entertainment and above all of course celebration: those are the characteristics of the
Wiesbaden City Festival.
From Thursday to Sunday on the last weekend in September in the most beautiful squares of Wiesbaden,
a daily changing programme of events is on offer. In addition, this is also the weekend of the Wiesbaden Autumn Market on Mauritiusplatz. A total of 50 stands tempt visitors with autumnal produce and high-quality craftwork. And on all the days the market can be combined with a visit to the Wiesbaden Automobile Exhibition on Schlossplatz. The festival is rounded off by a special Shopping-Sunday.
On Saturday and Sunday, the Harvest Festival invites to the green areas of the Warmer Damm on Wilhelmstrasse. For over 20 years, the festival has attracted particularly young families from the city and surrounding areas to celebrate the conclusion of the harvest period, to connect a little with country traditions and to enjoy regional specialities.
